Privacy Policy
Effective date:
Bush Bush Land is an invitation-only community at bushbushland.com, operated by Sophia Renie ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains how we handle information when you visit, sign in, share posts, or decorate a virtual room. Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using the site.
1. Information we collect
- Account and profile information. We store an account identifier, display name, profile picture, role, permissions, and account status. Invitation accounts use a generated internal email identifier; you do not need to provide a real email address to use an invitation code. We also store invitation codes and their redemption status.
- Google sign-in information. If you choose Google sign-in, we receive account information such as your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier. We store authentication information needed to support that sign-in, which may include tokens. Administrators may add your email address to the list of permitted Google accounts before you sign in. We do not receive your Google password.
- Content and activity. We store posts, uploaded images and videos, including any faces, voices, or other personal information in those files, likes, virtual coin balances, virtual item purchases, and the items and their arrangement in your room. Uploaded files may contain metadata included by your device.
- Technical information. Authentication and security systems process session identifiers, IP addresses, browser or device information, timestamps, and sign-in attempts. Our hosting provider also processes request information to deliver and protect the site.
- Communications. If you contact an administrator, we receive the information you choose to provide in that communication.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and manage accounts, authenticate members, display profiles and posts, operate likes and virtual coins, save rooms and purchases, respond to requests, moderate content, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and meet legal obligations. We do not use member content to train artificial intelligence models.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you request, for our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable community, to comply with law, or with consent where required. You may withdraw consent by contacting an administrator without affecting processing that already took place.
3. What other people can see
Signed-in members can see your display name, profile picture, and posts. Administrators can access account information and activity as needed to operate and moderate the site.
The member feed requires sign-in, but uploaded images and videos are served through direct URLs that can be opened without signing in. Anyone who receives a file URL may be able to view or share that file. Members can also save or take screenshots of content. Do not upload confidential information, sensitive personal information, or anything you would not want others to share.
4. Service providers and other disclosures
We use Cloudflare to host the site and store account data and uploaded files. Google LLC handles optional Google sign-in. Google Groups handles messages sent to our contact email address. The site also requests fonts from Google, which exposes technical request information such as your IP address to Google when those fonts load. These providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy policies:
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the site, or in connection with a transfer of the site to a successor subject to appropriate privacy protections. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on the site.
5. Cookies
We use cookies needed for sign-in, session management, and authentication security. You can delete or block cookies in your browser, but doing so may sign you out or prevent member features from working. Google may use its own cookies when you choose Google sign-in.
6. Retention and security
We retain account information and content while needed to provide the service, and may keep limited records afterward for security, dispute resolution, or legal requirements. Retention depends on the type of information and why it is needed. Deleted content may remain for a period in backups, caches, or copies saved by others.
We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards to protect information. No online service or storage system can guarantee complete security. Keep your invitation code and sign-in credentials private.
7. Your choices and rights
You can change your display name and picture in your profile settings and delete your own posts using the post controls. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of other information, or to close your account, email Sophia Renie at bushbushland@googlegroups.com. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account; please do not send your invitation code or Google password.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to receive a portable copy of your information, object to or restrict processing, and complain to your local privacy regulator. We will handle requests under applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
8. International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ. Where required, we rely on legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.
9. Changes and contact
We will post updates on this page and change the effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice on the site or through an available contact method, and obtain consent when required. For privacy questions or requests, contact the operator, Sophia Renie, at bushbushland@googlegroups.com.
